# StackSmith (demo)

> Demo store for StackSmith, a modular 10-inch desk rack for a Mac mini, Raspberry Pis, ESP32 boards and power banks, an AIPhoundry test product. Not for sale.

Every board on your desk, in one tower.

StackSmith SR-8 is an 8U desk rack on the 10-inch standard. A Power Spine at the back holds your own power strip and USB-C charger; slide-in modules hold a Mac mini (with a front power button), six Raspberry Pis on blades, ten ESP32 boards on cards and five power banks standing up to charge. This page runs on synthetic test data: checkout is switched off and nothing ships.

This site works for AI agents as well as people. Everything below is public: no account or API key is needed to use it.

## Ordering as an AI agent

1. Check first: `POST https://rack.aiphoundry.com/api/store/orders` with `{"product_id", "quantity", "dry_run": true}`. Nothing is written; the answer says whether it can be ordered now, the total in cents, and what stops it.
2. Place it: the same call without `dry_run`, with `email`, `ship_to` ({name, line1, line2?, city, region?, postal_code, country}) and an `Idempotency-Key` header. Retrying with the same key returns the same order, never a second one.
3. Pay without a person: add `"payment": {"token": "spt_..."}`, a Stripe shared payment token your user granted you for this seller. Without a token, the answer has `payment.checkout_url` for a person to pay.
4. Keep the returned `token`: `GET /api/store/orders/{order_id}?token=...` follows the order.

Limits for agents on this store: up to $500.00 an order, $2,000.00 a day in all, and 20 units at a time.

Payments are not switched on yet: orders can be checked with `dry_run` but not placed.

Every unit is built by the founder's manufacturer from a design revision that a named engineer signed off, locked to that revision when the order is paid.

## API

## Optional

- Can I buy one? Not yet. This is a demo of the AIPhoundry flow with synthetic test results; checkout is off and no units exist.
- Will my Mac mini fit? The M4 (127 mm) and the M1/M2 (197 mm) fit the 2U sled; a round cap at the front presses the M4's power button underneath. Mac Studio does not fit.
- Which Raspberry Pis and ESP32 boards fit? Pi 5, 4 and 3 with coolers and HATs up to 31 mm, six to a bay. ESP32 dev boards 17 to 31 mm wide, ten to a rail.
- Which power strips and chargers fit? UL or ETL listed strips 40 to 70 mm wide and up to 300 mm long, and USB-C chargers or hubs 45 to 95 mm wide. Never plug one strip into another.
- Which power banks fit? Up to 36 mm thick and 180 mm long, upright with the cable through a rear notch; shims for thin ones. 24,000 mAh bricks are too thick.
- Do the modules fit my DeskPi RackMate? Yes: 236.5 mm hole centres and M6 screws. Without rear slots they hang on the front screws, so keep them under 3 kg.
- How much can it hold? 5 kg a module, 20 kg in all. Keep the heaviest things low.
- What does shipping cost? About $24 by UPS Ground to US addresses (7.6 kg carton).
